When I did this overalls throwback post here, I truly believed it was going to be my only pair because I have vowed not to revisit the 90′s grunge. Apparently, I’m not ‘over’ the 90′s after all. When I bought this pair, it all happened so quickly I wouldn’t allow myself to think it through. But you don’t have to when you’re at Forever 21, right?! I would of preferred to style these overalls up, but the truth is, I really love an after hours comfortable outfit. Hence, let’s kick off the weekend together with this casual laid back look!
During my trip to Boston, I spent a day driving up to visit friends in Maine. We started the day with brunch in Portsmouth then headed up to Maine where I was able to capture these photos. Since I can remember, I’ve had a fascination with lighthouses and castles. So, despite my Rudolf nose and practically bald look from the gusty Atlantic wind, I am so happy to have visited Nubble Lighthouse. I’m wearing gingham as I thought it’d be fitting for the day’s grand finale….a lobster bake!
Happy Wednesday! And if you haven’t already shopped the Shopbop friends and family event you have until Thursday. I have a few of my favorite summer picks over to the right. Be sure to check them out! xo
Extra, extra! You read it here. H&M just announced their next designer collaboration with Alexander Wang and I couldn’t be more excited! Get ready to camp out at H&M for this release on November 6, 2014. As a tribute to this newsworthy collaboration, I’m wearing a button down shirt Mr. Wang’s style. Effortlessly sultry, cool, and UNbuttoned.
Boston was very chilly during my visit, but I was so content to have dry weather I couldn’t stop myself from pulling out some spring colors. I’m in soft pastel stripes keeping it light and breezy because it is! In fact, beyond breezy and bone-chilling cold!
I’m at the old Boston City Hall which is so well preserved and simply enchanting. I love the French style architecture and this gorgeous gate behind me. Since my opinion matters, I really think this should have stayed as the City Hall. I’m just saying…happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Is it me or is the sports trend dominating the fashion industry? I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise because the moment Chanel sent its entire spring/summer 2014 collection down the runway in sneakers the writing was on the wall. In addition to sneaker mania occurring right now, there are several other athletic echo resurgences. I’m ‘sporting’ two of those trends pairing sweatpants with a varsity jacket while maintaining my feminine, edgy sense of style. I like this jacket because of the tweed fabric and color! It’s unconventional and not a literal rebirth of the letterman jacket which I never was a big fan of. It’s also Forever 21 which makes playing with this trend essentially commitment free. These sweatpants add an edgy flair with zipper details which I’ve always been a big fan of. And what better place to sport this collegiate look than in Boston where I spent an afternoon touring Harvard?
Hope you enjoyed this look. Have a happy Wednesday!
I just returned from a week and half long vacation to NYC and Boston. Truth be told, I wasn’t all that excited about my chilly vacation as I was packing all my bulky winter gear. I have been in spring, bordering on summer, mentality and fashion for a while now. As it turns out, it rained about a third of my vacation, but it was still one of the best vacations I’ve had! Nothing like a cobalt blue fur collar to let Mother Nature know she can’t rain on my parade! Rain or shine, I had the time of my life!
These photos were taken at my favorite hotel in Manhattan, Le Parker Meridien. I love the lobby architecture and wrought iron details. The bar/lounge area has such a sultry mood with gothic decor and light fixtures! If you find yourself in Midtown Manhattan, stop by, and you won’t want to leave!
