The unusual winter heat around the Bay has finally given way to dismal, but much needed, rainfall. Alongside, came the chill in the air which has me back in a beanie! This is my favorite beanie which is made of baby alpaca. Three years ago, I hadn’t even heard of alpacas until a friend who raised them educated me. Apparently, the alpaca fiber is softer and warmer than cashmere and is hypoallergenic. I don’t know about you, but I was under the impression cashmere was the gold standard in luxurious, warmth desirability! So, when I saw this beanie a couple of years ago on a cold, weekend snow trip I decided to splurge. My verdict? It has lived up to its silky soft and cozy warm claim to fame. Now whether that’s factual or self justification, we’ll never really know, right?
These photos were snapped on my way to lunch and in a scurry as rain was imminent and predicted to arrive at any moment. As you can see, I ‘conveniently’ left behind my purse and wallet. It’s safe to say, I didn’t buy lunch that day.
Have a great weekend and make it stylish! xo

I know this post title reads more gruesome than this look reflects. I’ve been having lots of fun playing with unconventional and trendy fashion jewelry recently. The ear cuff on the last post and the body chain today. Two accessories which can pack a major punch to your spring and summer wardrobes.
A body chain can really be styled in so many different ways. Now just play along for a moment. Imagine getting dressed on a Friday night for dinner and drinks with the girls. Perhaps you might throw on your favorite jeans and a sexy tank or your favorite LBD? Well, at this point add a body chain and take your look to the next level. At the very least, it’d be a great conversation starter. Now project yourself into the summer months and think about your summer uniform. Whether it’s a summer dress or denim cut offs, a delicate body chain adds a laid back boho chic vibe. Lastly, and my personal favorite, there’s the bikini situation which begs for a body chain adornment. Today, I added a body chain to this feathery, feminine dress to balance the sweet with spice! I hope you’ve recovered from this atrocious title and I hope I’ve persuaded you to be body chained as well!

I always try to be in the moment. Enjoy the phase and not rush through any given chapter in my life. And this applies to fashion as well. But every so often one’s allowed to slip, right? Today, I am springing forward and getting ahead of the seasons. I don’t even know where this burst of spring craving originated because I’m actually really enjoying winter fashion still. It has been a relatively mild winter in San Francisco, thus, making my fashion choices less utilitarian driven and so much fun! Besides, I really prefer cozy, layered fashion above all else. Nevertheless, I hope you find this color palette a breath of fresh air. It’s what I needed amidst the current rainy days!
Remember I mentioned my subconscious was having a moment with stripes? Well, I think it’s moved beyond the subconscious AND beyond a moment, huh? At the very least, it’s moved onto navy! And a whole lot of it! It’s a navy on navy, leather on leather kind of day! With stripes of course. Hope you have a happy Wednesday. Make it stylish!

Virtually daily, a little voice in my head advocates for me to dress conservatively and mature. Usually, before I have the chance to really take it into consideration that soft spoken voice is usurped by a boisterous trendy voice. As of late, that’s been any shade of pink, lace, or a 90′s throwback. Today, a truce has been called. Here’s a knee length pencil skirt paired with a crew neck sweater. All very mature and demure if not for the mesh fabric. A fabric typically used for sports jerseys! Mesh is directly on trend with the sports luxe infiltration occurring this upcoming season. Take for instance Chanel’s spring/summer 2014 collection shown at New York Fashion Week where heels were completely MIA and replaced with sneakers. Every look including floor length gowns were paired with flat sneakers, albeit, all custom made! So, if it weren’t for the truce today, I’d be in sneakers!
Hope you had a great weekend and have a happy & stylish Monday!

Oh yes!, these are in fact overalls I’m wearing! Your eyes are not fooling you. I must confess I had a torrid love affair with overalls and plaid back in the 90′s. Owning multiple, multiple pairs which shouldn’t surprise you now after my last post and confession. I don’t recall any details of this break up, I guess memory does fade and time really does heal all wounds. I never thought I’d give overalls a second chance! But, I really couldn’t resist as it has resurged in a far more sophisticated form. This pair is fitted and wax coated so it feels feminine and refined. I’ve also included some links to faux leather versions which are edgy and chic. Overall, this look hits all the right notes. Laid back, effortless looking chic. Afterall, doesn’t everyone deserve a second chance?
Hope you have a relaxing weekend! Don’t forget to make it stylish.

Having a deja vu moment? Okay, it’s not you. It’s this lace top previously seen here in ivory!
Mom always said, if you find something that fits well buy it in two colors. And being the obedient daughter which I always strive to be, I obeyed. In fact, far too well! Now, deeply rooted inside me is the ‘buy-in-multiples’ habit which I probably will never be able to break. I thought it’d be best to come clean on this factoid early in our friendship. So here’s another look at a sweater over this lace cami, only in navy this time. Hope you like it even better the second time around.
Have a great day and make it stylish! xo

Apparently, my subconscious self is having a moment with stripes! I know my last post consisted of jailbird stripes as well, but considering the stripes have migrated to my lower half AND varied in width, I deem them to be different.
This striped tube skirt is really versatile as I considered quite an array of colors to pair with it before ultimately settling on black. However, to make sure I didn’t disappointment and to ensure this look is ‘blogworthy’, I cocooned myself in this yellow coat which altogether resembles a bumble bee!
Now, I use the word cocoon deliberately here as this coat effectively insulates via a process called enveloping! The oversized cut envelopes, shields, and insulates so well! Down to my fingertips, in fact, as the sleeve length is also exaggerated! Apparently, the extra long sleeves are the latest trend to hit the runway at Calvin Klein’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week which just wrapped last week!
Hope you are still riding the high from Valentine’s weekend. Have a great Monday!

I scooped up this sweater last week on a fun shopping trip to Zara with a girlfriend! As I had just been to Zara two days prior to that, I was anticipating enjoying girl time above real shopping. (By real, I mean the type of shopping where the phone goes on airplane mode, the search mission begins and laser focus is critical!) Well, well, I managed to spend at least twice as much as my friend as she fine-tooth combed the sale rack and came out triumphant. This sweater was my one and only clearance item! As it turns out, it was my best purchase that day as I’ve worn this sweater twice already while everything else remain with tags attached.
Hope you had a great Valentine’s day and night. Make it last through the weekend! xo

Although I do like to turn up the glam occasionally, in general, and above all else I prefer simple chic. So if you prefer simplicity as well, here’s one more look which would also be a great Valentine’s day outfit. A simple, white shift dress is a blank canvas for creation! Pair this dress with any color coat/jacket and shoes. Add any jewelry…or not. Grab a bag or clutch and you are ready to rock and roll. Basically, anything goes and it can be that simple!
Have a Happy Valentine’s day with your love and loved ones! Keep it simple and stylish! xoxo

As this is officially the week to celebrate love, what better time than now to dress the part? I stumbled across this Halston Heritage dress during my post-holiday sale shopping on major markdown! Only one left and in my size…common, really? The voice in mind head whispers, it’s meant to be. And so it is.
The purely feminine and ladylike silhouette is a far cry from every day wear. But like a true fashionista, I get the inexplicable urge to glam it up every so often. Without rhyme or reason. And if not on Valentine’s, then when I ask? Besides, this fiery red color is the perfect Valentine’s day cliche, right? So why not!? It’s meant to be.
Hope you enjoyed this look. Happy Tuesday!
