After two dressy looks this week, I felt the need to get back to basics today. I do some light acting on an extremely part time basis. And by acting, I really mean smile in front of a camera! I do it for a creative outlet, extra shopping funds, and a change of pace. All inspired by my gorgeous actress, friend Dana.
Whenever I’m called for an audition which requires me to look put together, this is my go-to blazer. (Although, I DON’T wear it with this peekaboo mesh top!) This blazer pairs well with everything, instantly pulls any look together, and works for any season. Not to mention, it has helped me land a few key jobs earning its title as the Audition Blazer!
Happy Friday and have the most wonderful weekend! xo

She made me do it! My sister-in-law. She picked out this lace ensemble and forced me. Okay, she didn’t have to force me, however, she was adorably excited with her eyes light up about me posting this look. So, I’m dedicating this post to her. Primarily, for giving me an excuse to wear so much lace. But, more importantly, for making me realize that I’m not the only one to light up to lace. Usually, I try and hold myself back from posting lace repeatedly. Today, I’m ready for self acceptance and to embrace my love. Here it goes…Hi, I’m Mei! And I’m a lace-a-holic.
From this pink Easter chick, hope you had a happy Easter! I have previously blogged a feather lookhere. And although I adore the look of feathers, they are ultra delicate and, at times, I really felt like the dress was wearing me! Consequently, I was very excited to discover faux feather! This skirt is faux feather and can be hand washed!
These days, the pendulum has swung all the way towards faux. It’s faux fur, faux leather, and faux feather or risk being faux pas! Fittingly, I paired this faux feather skirt with a faux leather jacket. Like birds of a feather…why the faux not?
When I did this overalls throwback post here, I truly believed it was going to be my only pair because I have vowed not to revisit the 90′s grunge. Apparently, I’m not ‘over’ the 90′s after all. When I bought this pair, it all happened so quickly I wouldn’t allow myself to think it through. But you don’t have to when you’re at Forever 21, right?! I would of preferred to style these overalls up, but the truth is, I really love an after hours comfortable outfit. Hence, let’s kick off the weekend together with this casual laid back look!
During my trip to Boston, I spent a day driving up to visit friends in Maine. We started the day with brunch in Portsmouth then headed up to Maine where I was able to capture these photos. Since I can remember, I’ve had a fascination with lighthouses and castles. So, despite my Rudolf nose and practically bald look from the gusty Atlantic wind, I am so happy to have visited Nubble Lighthouse. I’m wearing gingham as I thought it’d be fitting for the day’s grand finale….a lobster bake!
Happy Wednesday! And if you haven’t already shopped the Shopbop friends and family event you have until Thursday. I have a few of my favorite summer picks over to the right. Be sure to check them out! xo
Extra, extra! You read it here. H&M just announced their next designer collaboration with Alexander Wang and I couldn’t be more excited! Get ready to camp out at H&M for this release on November 6, 2014. As a tribute to this newsworthy collaboration, I’m wearing a button down shirt Mr. Wang’s style. Effortlessly sultry, cool, and UNbuttoned.
