Baby Alpaca

DSC_3117The unusual winter heat around the Bay has finally given way to dismal, but much needed, rainfall.  Alongside, came the chill in the air which has me back in a beanie!  This is my favorite beanie which is made of baby alpaca.  Three years ago, I hadn’t even heard of alpacas until a friend who raised them educated me.  Apparently, the alpaca fiber is softer and warmer than cashmere and is hypoallergenic.  I don’t know about you, but I was under the impression cashmere was the gold standard in luxurious, warmth desirability!  So, when I saw this beanie a couple of years ago on a cold, weekend snow trip I decided to splurge.  My verdict?  It has lived up to its silky soft and cozy warm claim to fame.  Now whether that’s factual or self justification, we’ll never really know, right?

These photos were snapped on my way to lunch and in a scurry as rain was imminent and predicted to arrive at any moment.  As you can see, I ‘conveniently’ left behind my purse and wallet.  It’s safe to say, I didn’t buy lunch that day. 😉

Have a great weekend and make it stylish! xo
