Rain or Shine

DSC_9091_2I just returned from a week and half long vacation to NYC and Boston.  Truth be told, I wasn’t all that excited about my chilly vacation as I was packing all my bulky winter gear.  I have been in spring, bordering on summer, mentality and fashion for a while now.  As it turns out, it rained about a third of my vacation, but it was still one of the best vacations I’ve had!  Nothing like a cobalt blue fur collar to let Mother Nature know she can’t rain on my parade! Rain or shine, I had the time of my life!

These photos were taken at my favorite hotel in Manhattan, Le Parker Meridien.  I love the lobby architecture and wrought iron details.  The bar/lounge area has such a sultry mood with gothic decor and light fixtures!  If you find yourself in Midtown Manhattan, stop by, and you won’t want to leave!

Hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday! xo

Holiday Spirit

DSC_6763Christmas day is officially less than a week away!  This year, I was a bit slow getting into the holiday spirit, but thank goodness for friends who are on top of it coordinating holiday dinners or dropping by with holiday goodies!  I feel so blessed for friends who have spread the holiday cheer and spirit!  So I want to exude that by wearing the quintessential holiday red!  I hope you are all ready and excited to celebrate the holidays because ready or not it’s around the corner.  Remember to keep calm and wrap on!  And don’t forget to enter the giveaway.  Directions on how are right here.

Winter White

DSC_0240_2I’m luxurious yet understated and the palest of hues.  I rival black in versatility and omnipresence.  Often shunned after Labor Day!  Who am I!?

Winter whites are chic, refreshing, and so crisp!  Never to be shunned…except when attending a wedding.  For an extra spotlight on it pair it with neutrals!

DSC_0482_2I’ve paired my winter white ensemble with grey neutral accessories, which is quite possibly my most beloved neutral color.  A pair of knee high boots and  a touch of fur seals this look as a winter white.  Not to be mistaken with summer whites!

Thighs the Limit

DSC_8549It’s almost too many years to quantify, but I have pined for a pair of thigh high boots for as long as I can recollect.  It’s lavish and decadent nature, along with it’s impracticality, resulted in a self-mandated forbidden territory.  And just like the forbidden fruit, I could only fight my craving for so long.  I’m actually quite proud to have held out this long.  However, after slipping into these Michael Kors boots, the self justifications and rational rebuttals quickly resulted in lifting the prohibition!  Afterall, these boots are equipped with all the essential bells and whistles:  silver buckles, zippers, and toecap & heel inlays!  Besides, finding a pair of boots which fit like a glove is a small miracle.  I always look for a form fitting boot which accentuates the leg shape and is soft enough to bend with your motions.  I have finally tasted the forbidden fruit and I feel like I’ve achieved sovereignty!  My unsolicited advice?  Give yourself permission to rock thigh high boots!
