Old But New

DSC_3133_2From the time I was little, I remember mother telling me about fashion’s cyclical nature and how trends fade in and out.  Thus, don’t follow the trends and stick with the classics, she would advise me.  Mom was absolutely right about the cyclical nature of fashion, however, wouldn’t it make following trends then completely sensible since it’d eventually come back around?  Today’s outfit is case and point!  I have to confess that this sweater is at least five years old!  At the time, I loved it so much that in true ‘Mei-form’, I bought in multiples! (I have it in cream as well.)  Sadly, it hasn’t gotten much love in the last three years as I fell out of love with the cropped look…only temporarily.  I’ve recently rediscovered this sweater and I love the numerous ways I can style it!  Today, I paired it with a classic white button down shirt and pinstripe skort.  I think the sweater really kicks up the style factor on this otherwise simple look!  What was old, is new again and both mom and I can be right! 😉
