Dressing Up Army Green

Army jacket lace dress over the knee boots This army green jacket is on constant rotation, it barely makes it onto a hanger and back into the closet.  Today, I dressed it up with this lace dress while out to dinner with friends.  And these over the knee boots are so comfortable!  I love that they aren’t real leather because I can throw them on regardless of weather and not feel bad.

Hope you had a great week.  Have a relaxing weekend.  Be stylish and be well! xo

Gunmetal and Snake Print

DSC_3200_2Hello!  Hope your week is going well so far.  Over the weekend, I went to a good friend’s birthday party where I wore this outfit.  The weather that day was blistering hot even without adjusting for San Francisco’s cold standards.  So when dressing for the party, I wanted a look which reflected the arrival of summer, however, festive enough to wear to an evening event.  So I chose a white monochromatic look adding gunmetal accents for a bit of punch.  To me, pairing gunmetal with white is similar to pairing black with white in terms of minimalism and sophistication, only gunmetal and white is more subtle and less harsh.

DSC_3288_2This Rebecca Taylor skirt is so unique and interesting the photos don’t do it justice.  If you look carefully, you’ll notice metallic tone-on-tone leopard and snake print swaths of fabric along the front of the skirt as well as bordering the hemline.  This is what prompted me to add gunmetal accents and wear snake print shoes. Another very interesting tid bit…I am actually wearing this skirt backwards.  I tried it on many times wearing it the way Rebecca Taylor intended it to be, but it just didn’t feel right.  Sorry Rebecca! 😉  So I rotated it 180 degrees, made the back the front, and then I was ready to toast and celebrate!  Happy birthday Tom!
