I really like the current Zara Woman Fall 2013 collection. The silhouettes are very clean and the colors are purely monochromatic. The look is minimalistic with a hint of androgyny. The type of pieces which form the backbone of my wardrobe, abused and remixed repeatedly, throughout all seasons. At least the seasons in San Francisco! 😉 Hence, the starting point of this look. It’s my favorite skort, aka Bamm Bamm, in pinstripe. In keeping with the pinstriped spirit, I wanted the overall look to be simple and monochromatic. As if appropriate for work if only Bamm Bamm wasn’t a skort! I usually like to add a touch of femininity and sensuality so I chose this ruffled blouse and ankle cuffed sandals. Lastly, the vintage, wax coated denim coat pulls together the completed look.
Good Morning Sunshine! 😉 Rise and shine…with the help of sunny yellow. It’s the power color which injects so much punch into any outfit, not to mention one’s mood. It’s so wearable and easy to pair! I do believe almost anyone can recreate this look with their existing wardrobe. And VOILA! Watch, as an irrepressible smile appears beyond your control. SO, since I don’t always wake up with my sunny side up, yellow is a great arsenal to have!
At the moment, this destroyed, skinny boyfriend jean is my favorite! It’s so broken in and comfortable. Ironically, even with it’s signature ratty, yet glorious, holes it can be dressed up with heels. To maintain the sunshiny brightness of this camisole, I paired it with this open, flowy Rebecca Taylor cardigan with bow-shaped cut outs along the shoulders. Then, for me, the pièce de résistance of this look is in the handbag. I picked up this handbag at the Prada Space Outlet which is adjacent to the Prada factory in Tuscany. I am so excited to add this bag to my collection. She’s got a spunky, rock and roll chicness. We’re going to get along really well! ♥

Hello! And TGIF!! I’m at St. Peter’s Square where I’m sure even the water is holy right? I hope so because I drank from it just in case! 😉 This is a pretty typical Italian drinking fountain (fontanelle) ubiquitous in Rome with fresh, cold water flowing at all times. And it’s completely safe to drink. It does take a bit of finesse to drink from without getting wet all over, LOL. The grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica just speaks for itself.
It’s another hot day in Italy so I’m wearing yet another camisole and shorts pairing. It was great for staying cool, but not so ideal for touring any cathedral much less the Basilica. There are guards who won’t let anyone slip in with exposed shoulders or wearing shorts. So bring a scarf. Or two, in my case! One to drape over the shoulders and another to wear as a sarong to cover up exposed thighs. I love the guards’ uniform which are on par with this season’s bold colors and color blocking trends! Molto Chic!
