I just returned from a week and half long vacation to NYC and Boston. Truth be told, I wasn’t all that excited about my chilly vacation as I was packing all my bulky winter gear. I have been in spring, bordering on summer, mentality and fashion for a while now. As it turns out, it rained about a third of my vacation, but it was still one of the best vacations I’ve had! Nothing like a cobalt blue fur collar to let Mother Nature know she can’t rain on my parade! Rain or shine, I had the time of my life!
These photos were taken at my favorite hotel in Manhattan, Le Parker Meridien. I love the lobby architecture and wrought iron details. The bar/lounge area has such a sultry mood with gothic decor and light fixtures! If you find yourself in Midtown Manhattan, stop by, and you won’t want to leave!
Hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday! xo

Like an annual tradition, every winter I tell myself grey is the new black. It’s probably my most beloved color. It is genuinely a neutral color covering all colorless shades between black and white. And because it is achromatic, or colorless, it pairs with ANY color. That’s a beautiful thing! However, in spite of it, I decided to wear this achromatic color as a monochromatic look. This grey on grey with bold stripes and pinstripes ensemble looks casually chic together! Lastly, for that effortless vibe, a grey slouchy beanie finishes off this monochromatic look.
I picked up these Zara shorts while in New York. The black is available online right now. I think this pinstripe version will be available online soon. So check their site in the next couple of weeks. It’s a great staple!

Considering my obsession for lace, it’s only natural I gravitate towards lingerie inspired clothing. Especially, when adorned with none other than…LACE 😉 This dress is really not as daunting as ‘akin to lingerie’ may sound. Plaid is a print I automatically associate with proper, conservatism, even religion. Must be an association formulated by my Catholic school upbringing! Thus, to me, the print offsets the risqué factor which comes along with lingerie inspired fashion and legitimizes it as a daytime dress. When I bought this dress, I envisioned layering it over a black, thin, long-sleeve shirt paired with stockings or knee high boots. Something very cozy and autumn-like. However, with the San Francisco Indian summer still strongly upon us, I couldn’t fathom the thought of that many layers when doing this shoot. The elimination process began and this is what I was left with. I did add a casual jacket which would pair effortlessly with this look. I will try to circle back to this dress during the colder months and show it styled for fall or winter.
